Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a provisional licence?

You  must obtain a provisional driving licence before taking your first  driving lesson. This can be obtained from the Post Office. You can apply  3 months before your 17th birthday.

What about the theory test?

The  theory test is made up of two parts; the multiple choice part and the  hazard perception part. The multiple choice part is delivered using a  touch screen computer and the hazard perception part records your  responses through the use of a computer mouse button.

You need to  pass both parts to pass the theory test. If you pass one part and fail  the other you will fail the whole test, and you will need to take both  parts again. The pass mark for the car and motorcycle hazard perception  part of the theory test is 44 out of 75. Once you have passed the theory  test you can then apply to take your practical driving test.

How many lessons will I need to learn to drive?

Every  person is different. There is no set number of driving lessons you must  have before sitting your practical test.. Candidates who combine  professional instruction with private practice are more successful on the test.

When can I go for my test? What will I need?

Lee will help you decide when you are ready to take your test.

When you do go for your test you will need to take with you your theory test certificate and the paper part and card part of your provisional license.
